Be Frank With Me... Favorite Christmas candy or cookies or pastries?

As I was working on doing some baking and candy making, today, I was thinking about what you all consider your favorite Christmas candy or cakes or pastries or cookies. I'm not talking about Reese's peanut butter trees, and stuff like that. I'm talking about homemade goodness!! Do you have any family traditional recipes you have to make every year? I'd love to hear about them!

  1. My Mother's chocolate crinkles! I have no idea if this is the same recipe, but a good approximation:

    Happy Holidays!

  2. Those sound great, Ian! Every year, my wife and I make some goodies to go along with the ones her parents make. So, we split them up, this year, and we made peanut butter balls, peanut butter cookies with the chocolate Kisses on top, oatmeal Scotchies, and almond bark candy (has crunchy peanut butter, marshmallows, peanuts, mixed in with almond bark).

  3. My mothers Christmas fudge always brings a smile.

  4. My favorites are recipes that my Aunt Punky passed down to me (seeing as my mom didn't really do any Christmas baking) - Million Dollar Fudge and Peanut Butter Balls. Iced sugar cookies are always a hit in our household, too. Didn't make any peanut butter balls this year because they're so labor-intensive and I'm pretty much the only one in the house that eats them. Just wasn't worth it.

I did branch out a bit this year and made two new fudge recipes - Salted Nutella Fudge and Eggnog Fudge. Both were awesome and will become regular players in next year's Christmas goodies rotation. :)

  5. Big V...
I never make fudge; not sure why I don't, it provides quite a vehicle to experiment with flavors.

Those fudges sound incredible!! Why are you not up here, sharing?! Daniel helped me with the peanut butter balls, this year. He's become quite the sous chef!
