Frank About Food at the Webb City Farmers Market

When Eileen Nichols of the Webb City Farmers Market first approached me about my interest in participating in cooking demonstrations at the Market, it was a no brainer! One major purpose of this blog is to share my passion about food, help others enjoy food the same way, and to promote local, whenever possible. This opportunity would afford me to the luxury to do all that. The demonstrations will help Market goers find tasty ways of using the bounty that is found at the Market, while helping promote the Market vendors.

I will be at the Market, doing demonstrations on Saturday mornings: April 26, May 31, July 5, and August 23. The Market is open from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays. This Saturday, April 26, I will demonstrating how to prepare a coffee-crusted pork tenderloin with mango chutney, atop a bed of wilted spinach chiffonade, utilizing freshly roasted coffee from Cottage Small Coffee Roasters, mindfully raised pork from Madewell Meats, and produce from various farms. My May 31st demo will have to do with all things garlic scapes

As part of this opportunity, Eileen Nichols and I were able to appear with Carol Parker on her "Cooking With Carol" segment of KSN 16's Living Well, this afternoon. We were able to talk about the spring and summer Market season, what goodies you can find there now, and a little about the cooking demonstrations. Here is the video:

So, if you are a local, come out to see us, this Saturday morning. If you are not a local, please seek out your local farmers market and take in what bounty it has to offer you!
